Recruitment material that exceeds boundaries

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) is a prestigious art school based in the bustling city of Chicago. When it comes to promoting the art school, SAIC believe in having strong “mailbox presence” and put a tremendous amount of effort into producing recruitment material that says, hello, here I am and you better take notice.

Make it stand out.

While working at the agency TimeZoneOne, I had the great honour of being involved in three major recruitment projects for SAIC. This one, for the Graduate School, resulted in a 256 page book promoting the various faculty programmes and showcasing student work.

The directors of the school wanted the book to be sophisticated and subtle allowing the student work to be showcased. All of the work was done from Christchurch (NZ), collaborating with academics from the various faculties in Chicago, and printed in the USA.

A piece of work that I’m very proud of, an impressive book of eye-catching imagery, interesting typography, paper stocks and overprints that definitely captures what the school stands for.

“When you receive this in the mail, you have to sit back and take notice, like you are receiving a beautiful present. This piece beats every other piece of material we have received from other art schools, hands down!”
